In 2008, our founder, Martin Carpentier, was a dedicated programmer, spending countless hours in front of a computer. Over time, the strain of long hours at a traditional desk took its toll, leading to carpal tunnel syndrome and back problems. Determined to find a better way, Martin embarked on a mission to redefine the workspace experience, prioritizing comfort and productivity.
As a father of four young children, working from home, Martin sought to enhance his productivity so he could spend more quality time with his family while safeguarding his health. The result was a vision for a workspace where the chair is not just a seat, but an extension of the user's needs—offering unparalleled comfort and adjustability to support individual preferences.

In 2009, The Emperor 200 was the first original and groundbreaking design that forged the company into what it is today: the world’s leader in the modernized workspace. It was initially introduced at the CES Las Vegas.
The Emperor 200 was the very first scorpion chair on the market. It was design by our founder, Martin Carpentier.
